Do I need a ticket for the opening ceremony or closing ceremony, even if I do not need to use the transport? 

Yes, both the opening and closing ceremonies will be ticketed events. You will need to show your ticket upon entry to the venues. 

What is included with the opening ceremony ticket? 

The opening ceremony will be held at Bradford College on Monday 15th April, from 16:30. Following the opening ceremony there will be 2 or 3 fixtures, which will be confirmed shortly. The event will finish at 22:00. The opening ceremony, and opening fixtures are both included in the opening ceremony ticket. There are no other fixtures taking place on Monday, apart from what is included in the opening ceremony. 

What is included with the closing ceremony ticket? 

The closing ceremony will be held at Odsal Stadium, Bradford on Wednesday 17th April. Before the closing ceremony the final fixtures will take place at Odsal stadium from 16:00 and entire event will be finished at 22:00. The fixtures, and the closing ceremony are both included in the closing ceremony ticket. 

Do I need a ticket for any of the fixtures on Tuesday or Wednesday, which are outside of the opening and closing ceremonies? 

The simple answer is no. This is because we will not be able to provide transport for spectators to these fixtures and several of the venues will not be able to support having spectators in attendance. 

Why isn’t the t-shirt included in the price of the ticket? 

To try and make attending Varsity more affordable, we have split out the costs of each element so you can pick and choose what you wish to take part in. 

In the past, tickets were £12 and this included a t-shirt and entry to everything. However, some students just wished to attend the closing ceremony. 

This year, if you wished to attend just the closing ceremony it’ll cost just £5. If you then wished to purchase a t-shirt it would be a further £5, overall still cheaper than previous years. 

If the t-shirt isn’t the ticket, what is? 

We will be providing you with a ticket to show to enter events. This may be a physical paper ticket, we’ll be in touch with you about the details closer to the event. 

What are the transport details? 

Transport will be provided, for spectators, to and from the opening and closing ceremonies only. Transport will be provided, for competitors, to and from your fixtures.
