HUMS Hike - Wildboar Clough Scramble

Hello,

Join us for something a bit more challenging and interesting than our normal HUMS hikes:

On Saturday 2nd May we are going out to the top end of the Peak District to scramble up Wildboar Clough to the summit of Bleaklow.

There is also the potential to extend the route to visit two military aeroplane crash sites on the moorlands (reliant heavily on time, weather and tiredness)

What do I need?

  • Sensible clothing - The weather could do anything - It may even be worth bringing spare socks/shoes to leave in the minibus for when we get back
  • Sensible footwear - Very important for this event - Long distance, plenty of scrambling and lots of moorland trudging
  • Sustenance - Lunch, snacks and plenty to drink
  • (we will be checking that you have these things before we set off)

Timings:

  • Meet at the rainbow roundabout by the SU to leave at 9:30
  • The drive to Torside Carpark where we will start/finish the walk is about 45mins
  • Timing back in Hudds may vary hugely depending on: weather, speed of walking, time taken looking at views, whether or not we visit the aeroplanes.....etc.....

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask,

I hope to see you there :)

(note: this is for HUMS members ONLY)
