About FRAG

Welcome everyone, we are FRAG Gaming Society, a society that acts as a chill gaming space within the University of Huddersfield. No matter your background in gaming, whether you're completely new or a hardcore player, there's a space here for you. We do regular weekly socials at the same time and location each week, and once a month we host a unique gaming-themed event - be sure not to miss these!

We have a wide variety of both mainstream and niche games to choose from within the FRAG inventory to spice up your weekly social. This year, we're encouraging you to find the weirdest, most niche games in our library and test them out with your friends! As for all you PC gaming and eSports fans out there, we're also looking at incorporating PC gaming sessions in the near future, and encouraging collaborations with Huddersfield Hounds.

Our main goal for the 2023-2024 academic year is creating a community where members can enjoy and socialise by playing video games, as well as taking breaks from studying. Be sure to connect to our social accounts (links below), this is where FRAG members can communicate with other FRAG members discussing game-related topics. We also have a Discord server so you can easily communicate with fellow FRAG members as well as committee members.

We also have frequent socials gatherings after the society meeting, this can be either going to the local bar/pub, cinema trips, gaming events that are upcoming and lots more during the academic year.

Joining FRAG

Membership is £10 for the whole academic year and registering as a FRAG member is very straight forward via the student union website. This fee pays for our socials, games and equipment.

Where does FRAG take place?

The society meetings are held every Thursday from 6pm till 9pm (TBC for academic year 23/24), we are located in the Oastler Building OA6/08. This room is elevator accessible. We have been awarded the "Bronze" award from the AQM (Activites Qualities Mark) and the ACE mark from "Achieving Committee Excellence".

FRAG Gaming Society: Terms & Conditions

Please take care of the equipment being provided during the FRAG meeting. Any damages related to the gaming equipment (Consoles, TV, Controllers, games, cables etc) please report to the committee member.
Please ensure that any gaming equipment used is put back where they belong i.e corresponding storage boxes, related packaging.
Take extra care when changing game discs to the console. Do not scratch, break, or spill anything on them as other members would not be able to use these in the future. If the game discs have been damaged in a particular way, please immediately report to a committee member.
Do not unplug or disassemble equipment without a committee member's consent.
