University Life

Your ID Card

Once you've completed your enrolment and the relevant procedures, you'll be able to pick up your ID card. Please don't leave it till the last minute. If you don't finish the enrolment process by the deadline, you risk losing your place on your course.

Freshers Fair

As soon as your required processes are completed, you will be able to see the fun aspect of university life, beginning with Freshers Fair. Every year, the Student's Union (more on SU in section 8) organises this, and you will receive all the necessary information via email. It's a lot of fun, and it's a perfect way to meet new people and make friends.

MyHud

MyHud is a valuable application that you will use throughout your time at the University. You'll need to download this app on your phone so that it's easy to use and all of the materials are just a click away. If you don't have a smartphone or are having problems using the app, please ask for help; the University offers a lot of support.

Attendance

As an international student, you will be responsible for attending all your classes and informing your school of any absences. The university has strict attendance policies and failing to follow them could result in your visa being revoked. This link will take you to a page where you can learn more about it https://www.hud.ac.uk/policies/registry/regs-taught/section-4/

There are six academic schools at the University of Huddersfield, and you will be a part of one of them. To learn more about our academic schools, use the link below https://www.hud.ac.uk/about/schools/ It is critical that you are familiar with your school buildings so that you are aware of where your lectures and seminars will take place. In your school, there will be many different departments and services; make sure you know where they are. You can always go to the iPoint https://students.hud.ac.uk/help/ipoint/ if you have any problems with the directions.

The University Health centre

For any required medical help while in the UK, you must register with the University's Health Centre. Before you fly to the UK, you will have paid your health surcharge. You must schedule an appointment with a GP (General Practitioner) whenever you need to see one. Keep in mind that not all medical services will be free; for example, you may need to pay for prescription medications. If you are under the age of 18, you may be eligible for certain free services. Please conduct your own research; here are some resources that may be helpful:
