At the University of Huddersfield you are automatically a member of the Students' Union unless you choose to opt-out during registration (something we are legally obliged to offer under the terms of the Education Act 1994). All students (irrespective of whether they opt-out) have access to our key services, for example, our Advice Centre, HudLets etc.
To stand for election, or vote, you must be an ordinary member of the Union. If you've accidentally chosen to opt-out, you can opt-in below.
Membership Enrollment: Information about Error Messages
Encountering an error message after enrolling?
Don't worry, this might be because you haven't confirmed your email address (opted-in) yet. Once you've completed the enrollment process, you'll need to opt-in to the SU membership from view/registration preferences, select 'yes' to being a member of HSU.
Here's why this happens:
- Your membership data is synced with your university records.
- To ensure data privacy, we require confirmation before adding you to the website.
Once you've opted-in, your data will be synced in overnight and you'll need to contact the Students' Union Digital Development Coordinator, Faizan Khan, to upload you onto the website. The email to contact him is f.khan2@hud.ac.uk.
