Officer Team 2026/27
Meet your Students' Union Officers: Dobby, Abdul, Zawiar, and Mel each dedicated to making your time at Huddersfield unforgettable.

I want to help create a campus where students feel safe, supported, and able to enjoy their university experience. By listening to student experiences and working together on practical improvements, I want to help make Huddersfield a welcoming place where everyone feels they belong.
I believe the best decisions come from understanding the experiences of the people they impact. I want to continue having honest conversations with students, making sure your voices are heard and using your feedback to help shape positive change across the University.
Following the introduction of Compassionate Communications across Professional Services, I want to continue developing this work and bring these principles into Schools. By encouraging empathy, understanding, and positive communication, we can help create a more supportive environment for both students and staff.
University is about more than just studying, it's about the experiences, friendships, and opportunities you gain along the way. I want to continue supporting student groups, activities, and initiatives that bring people together, encourage collaboration, and help students make the most of their time at Huddersfield.

I want to help create an environment where every student feels safe, respected, and able to be themselves. This includes tackling online bullying, promoting respectful behaviour, and working to create safer spaces both on campus and within our student community.
I'm passionate about making it easier for students to access the support they need. By launching our new Students' Union app and improving access to services, I want to ensure students can quickly find information, opportunities, and support whenever they need it.
I want to work with the University to monitor attendance support and help identify students who may be struggling before they fall through the cracks. Every student deserves the opportunity to succeed, and I want to ensure support is available when it's needed most.
I want to build on the incredible work already taking place by expanding our charity partnerships and encouraging students to get involved in fundraising and volunteering. Together, we can make a positive impact both on campus and in our wider community.

I want to help students feel confident about life after university by promoting employment opportunities, developing skills, and ensuring students have access to experiences that prepare them for their future careers.
Academic societies play an important role in helping students connect with their course and with one another. I want to support these societies to grow, encourage collaboration, and create stronger communities that enhance the academic experience.
Every student deserves equal access to education. I'll work to improve support, accessibility, and representation for disabled students, helping to remove barriers and ensure everyone has the opportunity to thrive during their time at university.
I want to make sure students' voices are heard when it comes to their academic experience. By listening to feedback and working closely with course representatives, academic societies, and the University, I'll help ensure student concerns lead to meaningful improvements.

I want to strengthen connections between the Students' Union and societies through regular check-ins, active communication, and making sure student groups feel supported. Societies should feel recognised, informed, and celebrated, with opportunities to showcase their achievements and continue growing.
I want to help clubs create the best possible experiences for students by supporting committees, encouraging collaboration, and ensuring groups have the confidence, resources, and guidance they need to succeed.
I want to help make social events safer, more enjoyable, and accessible for everyone. This includes exploring wellbeing and nightlife safety initiatives, as well as creating more opportunities for students to enjoy social activities in different ways.
I want to create more opportunities for students to get involved, try something new, and build connections across campus. Through inclusive activities, inter-club competitions, multi-sport events, and charity collaborations, we can strengthen our student community and encourage more students to take part.
