A Year Full of Heart

As another academic year comes to a close, we are reflecting on everything your SU Officer Team has achieved for students across campus.

At Huddersfield Students’ Union, student leadership is not just about representation — it is about care, consistency, and showing up for students in moments big and small.

This year’s Officer Team has done exactly that, often quietly in the background, but always with impact.

Saying Thank You

This summer we say goodbye to Freya, Bethany and Irfan, who are completing their time as Sabbatical Officers after two incredible years.

Together they have strengthened student representation, led campaigns, delivered events, supported students, and made sure student voices were heard and acted on.

There have been big moments like campaigns and events, and quieter moments like supporting students one to one, problem solving, and being present when it mattered most.

It has not always been glamorous. There have been long meetings, early mornings, late nights, and more spreadsheets than anyone would like to admit. But they kept showing up for students anyway.

We want to say a heartfelt thank you to Freya, Bethany and Irfan. Your work, humour, patience and care have made a real difference, and your impact will last long after your time in office.

We are pleased to share that Dobby will be continuing into the next academic year and returning as your SU President.

What’s Next

The Officer Team is already planning for September, including Welcome Week, new campaigns, and more opportunities for students to get involved.
