Join us for our HSU Offline Social on Thursday 24th September 2026, from 7.30pm to 10pm in the Richard Steinitz Atrium. This phone-free evening is designed to help you relax, slow down, and take a break from busy student life during Welcome Festival.
Put your phone away and enjoy a calm space for activities such as crochet, journaling, reading, colouring or simply unwinding. With live piano music creating a relaxed atmosphere, this is the perfect chance to switch off from screens and enjoy some quiet time.
Come along with a hobby, a book, or just yourself, there’s no pressure, just a welcoming space to reset and relax.
This event is open to all students and is ideal for anyone looking for a calm, screen-free space to relax, unwind, and enjoy a quieter Welcome Festival activity.
This event is free to attend - please do book your free ticket so we know how many people to expect (and we can send you a friendly reminder closer to the date)
The event takes place in the Richard Steinitz Atrium, which is level access from outside and suitable for wheelchair users and students with mobility requirements.
Accessible and gender-neutral toilets are available nearby on campus.
If you have any accessibility requirements or need support attending, please contact Danny Levick, Head of Student Experience, at d.levick@hud.ac.uk.

Cancellations & Refunds
At the SU we understand that things come up last minute and or plans change. However, we really do appreciate it when people let us know that they can no longer attend an event. In some case, where tickets are limited, it means we can release more tickets to students. If your ticket had a monetary value (i.e not free) then if you cancel your ticket up to 7 days before the date of the event, we will issue you a full refund.
