Warriors Cheerleading

Warriors Cheerleading is a welcoming and inclusive university club for anyone looking to get involved in cheerleading, whether you’re an experienced cheerleader or have never tried cheer before.

Most of our members start cheerleading at university with little or no previous experience, so beginners are always welcome! We offer competitive cheer, performance pom, sideline cheer and social memberships, meaning there is something for everyone.

Throughout the year, members have the opportunity to develop new skills, perform at university sporting fixtures, compete against other universities, take part in our annual showcase and enjoy a busy calendar of socials and club events.

Above all, Warriors is about creating a supportive community where members can make friends, build confidence and enjoy being part of a team.

Aztecs – Competitive Cheer

Aztecs is our competitive Level 2 Non-Tumble cheerleading team.

The team combines Level 2 stunts, jumps and dance to create a full competitive routine. Throughout the season, Aztecs train together to develop their skills and prepare to compete against other university cheerleading teams at competitions across the UK.

You don’t need to have years of cheer experience to get involved. We encourage members to challenge themselves, develop new skills and progress throughout the season in a supportive team environment.

Aztecs also perform their routine at our end-of-year Warriors Showcase, giving friends, family and fellow students the opportunity to see everything the team has achieved throughout the year.

Spartans – Pom Performance Team

Spartans is our pom performance team and offers a different side of Warriors Cheerleading.

The team focuses on pom routines, dance, performance skills and supporting other sports teams across the university.

Throughout the year, Spartans have opportunities to perform at university sporting fixtures, half-time performances, events and our annual Warriors Showcase.

Spartans is a great option for anyone who loves the performance and dance side of cheerleading or wants to represent Warriors without taking part in competitive stunt cheer.

Pom Pom Games & Sideline Cheer

Warriors also supports other sports clubs across the university through Pom Pom Games.

Members perform mini routines and provide sideline support at fixtures throughout the year, including sports such as football, netball, basketball, rugby and volleyball.

It’s a fun and sociable way to represent Warriors, support other university teams and experience the atmosphere of university sport.

Social Membership

You don’t have to compete or perform to be part of Warriors.

Our social membership is available for anyone interested in cheerleading who wants to be part of the club without committing to a performance or competition team.

Social members can get involved in our Wednesday night socials, sober socials and other club activities throughout the year. It’s a great way to meet new people and become part of the Warriors community.

Warriors Showcase

Our annual Warriors Showcase is an end-of-year charity event celebrating everything our members have achieved throughout the season.

Both Aztecs and Spartans have the opportunity to perform the skills and routines they have worked on throughout the year. In previous years, we have also performed alongside other university societies, including the Pole Society.

The event brings together members, friends and family and includes performances, photo opportunities and a charity raffle.

More Than Cheer

Being part of Warriors is about much more than training and performing.

Throughout the year, we host a range of Wednesday night socials, sober socials, joint socials with other university sports clubs, team activities and special events.

Whether you want to compete, perform, support university sport, try something completely new or simply meet new people, Warriors gives you the opportunity to become part of a supportive and sociable university community.

No previous cheerleading experience is necessary — come along, get involved and become a Warrior!
