 CALLING ALL MOTORSPORT FANS!

Welcome to Hudds Motorsport! We are the society for all motorsport fans to come together, have fun, and enjoy all forms of racing!

 Who are we?

Formerly H-KARTS, we changed our name for 2026/27 to reflect the true nature of the society - a place to appreciate all forms of motorsport, not just karting. We are all passionate fans of a variety of motorsports who want to create a community for everyone else with similar interests.

 What do we do?

We host a variety of motorsports-related events such as:

Karting

F1 Watchalongs

Trips to Race Weekends

Simulator Sessions

And More!

Karting is still a core part of the society, and those who choose to race with us can compete in regular H-Karts sessions at a variety of local indoor and outdoor tracks.

We also compete in the British Universities Karting Championship (BUKC) using some of the best rental karts in the world - Club100.  In 2015, we won the championship!

 Who can come along?

Absolutely anyone! All experience levels, genders, and beliefs are welcome – and although it certainly helps, you don’t need to be a die-hard petrol-head to have a great time with us!

We hope to see you soon!

 Karting

Our H-KARTS sessions are regularly hosted for those that want to scratch their adrenaline-induced itch!

We race at indoor tracks (such as Teamsport Leeds, Bradford, and Manchester Trafford) and outdoor tracks (such as Parkwood, Three Sisters, and Tockwith).

These sessions will typically be a qualifying - race format, however watch out for our announcements as we like to sometimes spice things up...

IMPORTANT: You must have a membership to book with us. See the membership column for more details.

  Race Watchalongs

When start times permit, we like to go to our local bar Warehouse to sit together and watch the F1 races.

By getting a membership with us, you can unlock great discounts on food or drink at Warehouse so you can enjoy the watchalong even more

We are a friendly bunch and we all support different teams, so you need not feel out of place with us!

 Socials and Nights Out

Whether to celebrate a good karting session or someone's birthday, we like to enjoy ourselves with evening socials and nights out.

Sometimes we will collaborate with other societies to host themed joint socials! That way you can meet new people and have fun!

We welcome absolutely everyone to our events, and you don't have to drink alcohol to have a good time with us!

 Racing Simulators

Our new racing simulators located near the SU are a great way to enjoy the thrills of racing a variety of cars and tracks from the comfort of the university.

We host a time trial challenge where a car and track combination will be set and you can try and set the fastest time!

 Race Weekend Trips

It is a really cool experience to see racing in real life, which is why we like to plan trips to race events at local circuits such as Donington Park and Oulton Park.

We've previously watched British GT, GT Cup, and Historic Masters races, however we're always open to any suggestions for other series!

 What is the BUKC?

The British Universties Karting Championship is a series where universities will race against each other across a season calendar, visiting the country's best kart tracks.

Unlike our rental sessions, the BUKC operates a fleet of 2-stroke Club100 karts. Powered by Rotax Evo engines, these karts can reach >70 mph on some of the tracks on the calendar!

We can only explain the BUKC so well... More information can be found on their website > here <

 BUKC Classes and Calendar

The BUKC Calendar typically consists of 5 rounds, where the first round separates the teams into Intermediate, Clubman, and Premier Classes. Some teams don't make it past the first round as spaces for each class are limited!

For this year the BUKC schedule is as follows (will be updated when dates are confirmed):

Round 1 / Qualifiers - Whilton Mill - 13th, 14th, or 15th November 2026 (Specific Date TBC).

Round 5 - Location TBC - Date TBC, normally in the following year (2027)

Round 5 - Location TBC - Date TBC

Round 5 - Location TBC - Date TBC

Round 5 - Location TBC - Date TBC

 BUKC Test Days

If we think you have what it takes, you may be invited to a BUKC Test day.

These are 30 minute karting sessions where you can get a feel for the kart, some of the tracks, and most importantly get your racing license.

There will be several test days this year at the following tracks:

Whilton Mill - October 12th, 13th, and 14th 2026

Buckmore Park - 26th October 2026

If you're really keen and haven't been invited, pester one of the committee members and we may be able to book you on

 BUKC 24 Hour

If there is enough interest, we msy be able to compete in the BUKC 24 Hour race.

Held at Teeside Autodrome in Middlesborough (which also host the British Kart 24 Hours), this 24-Hour-Long race is such a demanding yet rewarding event for anyone who takes part.

The karts used are twin-engine pro karts, capable of reaching >60 mph on the Teeside straights, they are fun to drive and definitely keep you awake at 3 AM!
