Category: Representation
Currently, there is very little, if any, permanent presence from the SU in Daphne Steele.
The HSU should spend more time in Daphne Steele, both through regular pop-up events and a permanent presence. By organising more pop-ups, the HSU could engage with a wider range of students, raise awareness of the support and activities available, and make it easier for students to get involved. However, having a more permanent presence in Daphne Steele would also help to build stronger relationships with students, create a more recognisable and welcoming environment, and ensure that the HSU is accessible to those who may not actively seek out its services. Combining regular pop-ups with a permanent presence would allow the HSU to help students feel more connected, supported and represented.
Many students feel there is a disconnect between main campus and the Health Innovation Campus, and I think the SU being down there more regularly could really help build the sense of community and belonging.
I am not suggesting they exactly replicate what is on main campus (I appreciate this may not be possible); however, even having some WoW stalls down there instead of having everything up on main campus would make a difference.
