Update from the SU: 

The University Sustainability Team ran a litter pick in October and will run one each term, with the next in January. Canal litter isn’t collected directly for Health & Safety reasons, but SUEZ can support water-based litter picks using their small boat. The Environmental and Sustainability Co-ordinator will also be working with the Canal & River Trust next year on opportunities such as litter picking and hedgerow management. Dates aren’t confirmed yet, but updates will follow. We also recommend student to join the Sustainability Champions Team for event news. If there’s a specific canal area you’re concerned about, Estates may be able to install anti-litter signage. We’ll now close the loop on this idea.
